ASSYRIAN GENOCIDE
Under the shadow of World War One, 'The slaughter of the innocents' began in Turkey under the Ottoman Empire, assisted by the Kurds (Kurdish Irregulars).
Assyrian men women and children living in their ancestral homeland in South-East Turkey (Ancient Mesopotamia), were massacred, a total of seven hundred and fifty thousand (750,000) innocent civilians were butchered in 1914-1915, which became known as "The Year of the Sword" and 'Pharman', also internationally known as ‘the Armenian Genocide’

The Assyrian 1915 - 1918
"... They then took the Archbishop (Mar Adai Sher) outside the town, and, having slain a servant of his protector, Osman Agha, killing him with a fatal blow on the head, the butchers cut off the head of the Archbishop in order to show it to the Governor..." (Stera, Siirt)
"Yesterday on Sunday morning, April 19th, 1915 when we heard that the Turks were crazed with the anger of beastly slaughter, sparing neither man, woman or child (unless she was fair to lustful eyes) we became terrified...This is a good opportunity that I am enjoying to write you my last letter, for I know we will cut to pieces after we leave here, though I do not know when and where. Do not worry about my death - it is God´s will - I am going to heaven to protect the rights of the Assyrians at the presence of the biggest and greatest judge..."
(Professor Ashur Youssef (Euphrat College in Kharput, letter to his brother Hanna on Monday, April 20th, 1915)
