Barbara Jones Another Western Drummer On The Kurdish Drums
It’s amazing the sort of information that we can find on the net these days including some which can only be described as first class gibberish and utter nonsense. The latest in such articles is one written by Barbara Jones in which she desperately tries to convince those who are naïve amongst the readers that the Kurdish entity created by the U.S. and its allies is something to talk about!!!
Ms. Jones falsely employs the propaganda which she has been fed like hundreds other western happy go lucky journalists whose only interest is to write articles even if they are false and present them to the naïve un suspecting western readers in general who don’t have the faintest idea of what’s going on in the North of Iraq.
Ms. Jones listens to the Kurds when they are telling her about Saddam’s Anfal horrors but she seems oblivion to the horrors committed against the indigenous Assyrians not only during the Anfal but also before and since the Kurdish rule of the North of Iraq.
Ms. Jones goes on and on to say: “The five million Kurds in northern Iraq occupy an area the size of Switzerland. Desperate for a federal Iraq that will grant them a permanent presence here, they must accommodate large numbers of Turkmen, Assyrians and Christians, all of whom share their territory”.
Did she even bother to wonder who the Assyrians whom she’s referring to as sharing the “Kurdish” territories are?!!!
Did she bother to investigate and look what’s behind this false façade which she’s calling “peaceful”?At the Palace Hotel, colored lights play on decorative fountains and marble statues. There is no blast tape on the windows to protect us from stray shelling, hot water comes from the taps and the lights work. Chilled lager is stacked neatly in the mini-bar. One must hope that not all western journalists confine their observations to hot water and chilled beer or do they?
There is no need to go through the rest of the article because one will only continue to have an enormous feeling of nausea.
Ms. Jones and other western journalists of her caliber are invited to read through the continuous oppression which is going on in the North of Iraq in the Assyrian villages which are far from the eyes and ears of some journalists who cherish more the taps of hot water and chilled beer rather than reporting the atrocities, killings and oppression. Same goes for many Arab journalists whose job is to cover up as much as they can.
This website and others which deal with revealing the truth about the plight of the indigenous Assyrians in today’s Iraq can benefit western and non-western journalists alike if they are looking to report the truth and not only to act as co-conspirator witnesses to the slow systematic obliteration of the indigenous Assyrians.
